Our Sweet Charlie Owen is one!

Charlie's first taste of cake... It's a pumpkin if you can't tell... he wasn't thrilled with all the sugar. He ate a little, but that's it!

The kids decorated pumpkins with stickers and paint.

Mommy greeted Charlie on the morning of his birthday (the 19th) with a balloon and a "Happy Birthday Song". Notice the bed-head!

Charlie Late Summer

Charlie's first Viking's Game. We had suite tickets, so it was perfect for a little one!

We went 4-wheeling....it was bumpy, but fun. I wonder if Charlie remembers doing it in mama's belly?

Somebody LOVES water

The whole Thomas clan.

Late summer fun

First night out without Charlie. We went to a friend's wedding. We also celebrated our 12th anniversary!!

Charlie gets a big boy carseat from his "Auntie Mandy"! Yeah, he gets to face forward and see the world!
Charlie LOVES his coupe car! He could be in it all day.

Charlie's first visit to the State Fair! HE was such a trooper.

A visit with his cousins and Smokey the Bear at the fair. Ben, George, Amelia, Izzy, Brie, Nate, Caleb, and Smokey

Door County, WI

This was such a fun find.. A little walk down a "trail"/cliff in a state park and we found these great rock sculptures. Fun little reminders of many other family's vacation memories.
The water was perfect for small children, It was shallow as far as you could see and full of sand. It was a beautiful day!

Papa, Lou, and Charlie

THis is a historic building FULL of names of people that have visited here. We added ours to the list.

All of our first time in Lake Michigan. It was a little cool, but refreshing on such a warm day.

Already a half a year!

Charlie isn't sure what to think of his new cousin, Caleb crying!
Now Charlie opens wide for food... it only took a month!

So fun to play with Charlie's long hair and shampoo...... Alfalfa Baby

Mr Charlie Owen is seven months old!!!

Finally tolerating being on the belly. This was quite the challenge for Charlie.

Mr Blue Eyes

Can you believe it, Charlie already had to get haircut #2!! He's such a ham--he just ate up all the attention. Charlie's hair is more expensive than his daddy's to cut!
Charlie was seven months old on the 19th of May.....where does the time go? His new activities that he loves are rolling all over the room until an object stops him, jumping in his "Johnny Jumper", talking on the phone with papa and Lou or his Auntie Lanie, and eating lots and lots of prunes!

CHARLIE GETS A HAIRCUT!

Sitting so well with his little cape on...he tried to eat it...hair and all.
This was the before shot... literally RIGHT before. He didn't know what was coming.

The three Thomas generations

Charlie loves the swing at daycare. He often falls asleep in it.

Cousins Casdyn and Ryker came to visit... Charlie loved having them here.

the quiet moments

Sneaking up one morning on papa, Lou, and Charlie, I knew this was a cherished moment. My precious mom and dad reading to my first born; a book about his very own name. I'm grateful my mom and dad will get to know Charlie and I pray he will have many years with his Papa and Lou!

I can't belive we are coming up to 5 months with our little one. We're enjoying this stage so much now. The way his eyes light up when he smiles, hearing him discover his voice and all the sounds that he can make, and the way he holds on to his hair when he's falling asleep. My favorite is when I bring my face close to his and he reaches both of his chubby arms up to it and explores my features with his equally chubby hands! The best moment in the morning is when I lean over his crib and our eyes meet and he gives me the best Charlie smile! What a way to start my day. It's amazing how nothing else matters in the world at that moment, except for the two of us!
Daddy and Charlie have formed a special bond since daddy gets to be with Charlie every morning. I often leave for work before the two sleepy heads wake up! Kirk changes, dresses, and feeds Charlie before he takes him to Paula's(our daycare provider).

Speaking of daycare, things are going well. Charlie has many friends there that entertain him all day. He often comes home exausted! He even has two dogs and a tank of fish to watch. I miss him dearly, but know he's learning so much when he's there. Plus, my favorite part of the day is going to pick him up...I love that!

Well, until next time... blessings to all who visit our blog!

Growing so fast!

My favorite two boys! Wonder where Charlie got his blue eyes?

Charlie's learning to sit in the bumbo styling his "I'm kind of a big deal" t-shirt.
Mama's boy.....

Always putting something together. Putting together his exer-saucer.

In the exer-saucer for the first time... didn't last long, but this will be a new fun activity! (March 9)
